bohemea: Favourite Oscar Look #8: Natalie Portman in Rodarte Natalie’s overall look is flawless. She looks so ethereal & that shade of purple lends itself beautifully to Natalie’s skin tone & hair colour. She was styled gorgeously, the romantic side-parted waves, the strapped sandals, and may I just say that her bosom is pressed up magnificently! I think it was a darling tribute of Natalie to wear a gown designed by her friends, who also designed the stunning ballet costumes for Black Swan, but I have issues with Rodarte & while this gown is lovely, some of my issues carried over to this particular gown. It moves like a filmy dream, but I don’t care for the fit, and I can’t help but think that if Natalie wasn’t pregnant & had worn Rodarte, the gown wouldn’t have been the least bit flattering. I had dreams of Natalie accepting her award in some striking Dior creation, it would have been tremendous! I may have fainted! This was a feminine understated compromise & Natalie looked every bit the sweet girl that she is all evening. I just adore her.
